The Ring Nebula (also catalogued as Messier 57, M57 or NGC 6720) is a planetary nebula in the northern constellation of Lyra. Such objects are formed when a shell of ionized gas is expelled into the surrounding interstellar medium by a red giant star, which was passing through the last stage in its evolution before becoming a white dwarf. 20 hours of total integration with narrowband filters, binning 1x1. La Nebulosa Anello (catalogata come Messier 57, M57 o NGC 6720) è una nebulosa planetaria nella costellazione settentrionale della Lyra. Tali oggetti si formano quando un guscio di gas ionizzato viene espulso nel mezzo interstellare circostante da una gigante rossa stella, che passava attraverso l'ultima fase della sua evoluzione, prima di diventare una nana bianca. 20 ore di integrazione totali, tutte in binning 1x1 in banda stretta.
